Tyson Larson Wins Primary; Leads Incumbent Dierks
O’NEILL – State Legislative candidate Tyson Larson inspired the people of the 40th District and the State of Nebraska with an upset victory in the May 11th primary. Larson was the only challenger in Nebraska to defeat an incumbent in the primary. “I would like to thank all my supporters throughout the district. When I announced my intention to run against Senator Dierks, a 20-year incumbent, no one gave me a chance to win, but tonight, all the hard work paid off,” Larson commented when he heard the results.
Larson received nearly 50% of the total 6017 votes compared to Dierks’ 46% and Adam Dea’s 4% in the district that spans Cedar, Knox, Holt, and Pierce counties. Larson won three of these four counties handily. Larson said, “I worked hard in the primary; I wanted to show everyone that I had the energy, commitment, and vision that the 40th district deserves.”
There is nearly a six-month break between the primary and general election, which will take place on November 2, 2010. Larson knows he still has to continue to campaign hard despite his primary victory saying, “I’m going to continue to work hard. I won the primary on pure grit and dedication, and I have six months to knock again on every house in the district. I said at the beginning of the race that it was my goal to meet everyone in the district, and I’m going to continue towards that goal. There is still a lot of work to do.”

Nice job! Keep up the hard work and great things will happen for you and the district you represent.
